The news of Zinedine Zidane possibly taking over from Jose Mourinho at Manchester United broke this morning, which promoted this article considering Zidane already signed a contract with Qatar Nation team till 2022. So the question is, is it possible to manage both sides? And if yes who has ever done it before?.
Yes it can be done but the club or
National team must allow this in their
clause. In fact in club competition managers are way too much busy to handle and manage rather taking another National team. But in football history we find 7 coaches playing both roll at the same time:

1. Leonid Slutsky
Being in charge of CSKA Moscowten
he was in a 10 month spell as the
national team manager, as he took
Russia to Euro 2016.

2. Rinus Michels

Led the Dutch national side to the 1974 World Cup final he was still in charge of Barcelona.

3. Miguel Herrera
was in charge of Mexican heavyweights Club America and the national side in later 2013

4. Fatih Terim

managed both Galatasaray and the Turkish national team on three August 2013.

5. Dick Advocaat
managed both Dutch Eredivisie side AZ
Alkmaar and the Belgian national side !!

6. Sir Alex Ferguson

Aberdeen and Scotland before 1986 world cup.

7. Guus Hiddink
The legendary Dutch coach was given the reigns of the Russian national team in 2006 and enhanced his incredible reputation by taking the likes of Andrei Arshavin and Roman Pavlyuchenko to the semi finals of Euro 2008. Despite taking on the new task of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup,which he ultimately failed, Hiddink was appointed Chelsea’s interim manager in early 2009, following Scolari’s sacking, and led the Blues to FA Cup success within a few months.
