It was an atmosphere of excitement and jubilation as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Internal Security, Mr. Deji Adesokan empowers some artisans at the Odoro community, Iyin Ekiti.
The people in their joyful mood were seen chanting songs to eulogize and praise the governor’s aide for bringing succor to them.
The people especially tailors went home with sewing machines while other artisans got necessary working tools.
Some aged in the community were also given financial assistance to cater to their immediate needs.
All these gestures were coming a few weeks after Adesokan built an ultra modern mosque for the community.
Speaking with platinum times Mr. Deji Adesokan known as Jaru, said his action was out of his resolve and conviction to put a smile on the faces of his people.
According to him, every person in the position of authority must use their offices to better a lot of people.
I don’t feel good when I see my people suffering, this is just my little contribution to make life more meaningful for them.
I believe that these materials will enable them to make ends meet rather than waiting for white kola jobs.
The SSA, however, urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the materials with a promise to do better.
In an interview, the beneficiaries appreciated the governor’s aide for the gesture and prayed God to continue to bless him.
The people described Adesokan as a man with God’s heart saying he had used his office to assist many people in the state.
They equally acknowledged the giant strides of Governor Kayode Fayemi in the areas of Health, infrastructure, and Education promising to support him for the second term.
They promised to vote for APC in the next election without any fear or favor.
